Where are your products made?

At the moment, all our products are made in Ecuador. In the future, we hope to extend our offering and have artisan products from other parts of the world as well.

Are Alpacas harmed in the making of your products?

No, they are not. Alpaca wool is shaved off of the animal once a year, similar to Sheep wool. They are not harmed in any way. They probably even enjoy the annual, fresh, new haircut :).

Why should I buy Alpaca products?

Alpaca wool is considered a luxury fiber; it is excellent quality and is quite rare in garments due to its high price. It is 100% natural, hypoallergenic and no chemicals are needed to process the fiber since it doesn’t have lanolin oils like sheep wool. It does not itch and it’s silky soft, breathable and warm yet very strong, light and resilient. It will last for years and can be handed down through generations if taken care of properly.

Are Alpaca products durable?

Yes, very durable. This material is stronger than cashmere, resistant to pilling and won’t shrink with proper care. With the right care, these products are yours to enjoy for years to come.

Will the colour of Alpaca products fade or bleed? 

No they will not. Alpaca fiber takes dying better than other fibers and absorbs the colour very well. With the proper care, it will keep its beauty for many years. Note: Make sure to wash with like colours though, as it may transfer if washed with lighter colours.

How do I wash Alpaca products?

For best results and if you’re up for it, wash by hand with baby shampoo and air dry. Since we live in a modern age and most of us don’t have time for that, wash with like colours on gentle cycle with cold water and hang to dry. Use regular, mild detergent; do not use Woolite, as this will be too harsh for the fiber. With this proper care, your products will last for years.


When will my order be dispatched?

We aim to dispatch all orders within two business days although there are exceptions such as holidays but we will fulfill as fast as humanly possible! If you’re order cannot be dispatched in this time frame we will let you know.

What happens if I provide an incorrect shipping address?

If an incorrect shipping address is provided and we have not been notified before it has been dispatched you are at risk of losing your order and money. It is your responsibility to provide the correct information to us so you receive your order safe and sound.

Do I need to include the company name if my shipping address is a place of business?

Yes. If you do not include your complete shipping address, your order is at risk of being lost in transit.

How much is shipping? 

  • Canadian and International Customers: We use Canada Post. Shipping is calculated depending on your location, order quantity, and weight. You will receive real time shipping costs in your cart as you checkout. 

Can I cancel my order?

Chaka International ships all orders within 2 business days (some exceptions) from receiving the order. All cancellation requests received more than 2 hours after purchase cannot be processed, and as such are ineligible for refund. All emails regarding cancellations must be titled ‘Cancel Order’ in the Subject field heading of the email. Please include your full name and order number in the body of the email. Cancellations not titled in this manner will not be refunded.

Can I change my address?

Change of address requests received more than 2 hours after ordering, cannot be processed, and will not be included on the order. All emails regarding change of address must be titled ‘Change of Address’ in the Subject field heading of the email. Please include your full name, order number and corrected shipping address in the body of the email. Changes not titled in this manner will not be refunded.

Can I add a product or change my shipping method?

Once the order has been processed and submitted we cannot amend the type of postage or change / add products to the order. In the case, another/new order will need to be made.

Do you accept returns? 

We guarantee that the product you receive will have no defects and will be yours to enjoy for years to come. If you decide you do not want your product after you have received it we will accept returns up until 30 days after purchase. The product must be unworn and be returned with original, undamaged tags. Return shipping is not covered by us.

Having shipment delivery problems?

If your parcel is marked as ‘delivered’, by the local postal service, yet you do not physically have your parcel it is up to the customer, not Chaka International, to contact the local postal service to follow up the problem. If the local postal service and the customer do not resolve the discrepancy, we are not liable to refund or resend your order.
